    Schools

    Bear Creek Elementary - Located just off of 15th & Bear Creek road, the school’s mission is to support children to achieve their fullest potential. It is also home to the district's Spanish Language Dual Immersion Program.

    Bend High School - The VISION of Bend Senior High School is of a people-centered community that celebrates a passion for learning through challenge, growth, and success.

    The MISSION of Bend Senior High School is to provide a secure academic environment in which all participants are challenged to reach their potential.

    PHILOSOPHICALLY, they believe that “positive relationships and a focus on character development foster continuous academic achievement and that cooperation among students, staff, parents, and community is essential.”

    Parks.

    Larkspur Park - a beautiful park located just east of the Senior Center. Bend Parks and Rec sponsors play days here during the summer.

    Jaycee Park - a small neighborhood park set in an older subdivision located between Highway 97 and the railroad.

    Kiwanis Park - a popular neighborhood park with softball field, south of Wilson

    Ponderosa Park - a community park on 15th St. Includes 2 skateboard parks, softball fields, playground, Bend High's soccer field, an off leash dog park and more.

    Gardenside Park - This park, east of 27th Street on Darla Place was constructed through a development agreement with Palmer Homes. A unique picnic shelter is located next to the playground and open lawn areas offering a shady meeting place and connections to local trails.

  • Other Special Features.

    Larkspur Trail - This trail begins at the Larkspur Community Center and extends north, 1.75miles through the Pinewood Natural Area to Hwy 20 and under HWY 20 to Pilot Butte. The trail continues around Pilot Butte through tree lined neighborhoods, extending close to Hollinshead Park, and wraps up at Stover Park. (1650 NE Watson), for a total of 4 miles.

    Franklin Crossing Community Garden

    The Central Oregon Food Policy Council has provided our neighborhood association with a lovely community garden, located at 8th and Franklin.

    Larkspur Community Center - Newly renovated/expanded in 2020 at the original site of Bend’s Senior Center, this is a vibrant place where people of all ages, interests and abilities can gather for lifelong fitness, learning and recreation. It continues the legacy of the Bend Senior Center and further enhances opportunities for older adults in our community. At 34,000 square feet, Larkspur Center features many fitness, swim and enrichment amenities.

    Vince Genna Stadium - This is a classic fixture of our neighborhood. Come out and join your neighbors and watch some West Coast League baseball!

    Coyner Trail - The Coyner Trail extends approximately one mile from the corner of Ponderosa Park at 15th and Wilson, passing through Ponderosa Park then behind Bear Creek Elementary and the Presbyterian Church, and on up to the roundabout at Franklin and 8th St.
